Chicago Falcons Help Raise Money for Great Cause
(Naperville, IL ) –Thanks to everyone who donated to St. Baldricks on behalf of the Chicago Falcons. Joel & Cody Pruneda shaved their heads for children's cancer research on Friday March 5th and helped the event raise a total of $120,000. $96,000 online & $24,000 at the event held in Naperville, IL and sponsored by the Naperville Fire Police Departments. Donations are still being accepted. Please visit www.stbaldricks.org search "PRUNEDA" and donate to Joel or Cody and help put an end to children's cancer.



Chi-City Blitz Announce Tryouts
(Chicago, IL ) –The Chi-City Blitz are holding a 3 day tryout on the dates of March 7, 14, and the 21st, 2010. Location will be the windy city field house 2367 west Logan near western and fullerton. Start time is 1:30pm end time is 4:30pm. Those who are attending must bring $20.00 this fee is to help pay for the facility on the tryout dates. St. Louis Spirit Return Home to Berkley
(Berkley, MO ) –The St. Louis Spirit ink a deal to confirm their home field for the 2010 season.  The Spirit will return to McCluer South Berkeley High School.  Berkeley High School was the location of the first game in St. Louis Spirit history in 2002.  Read more



Jason Rucker is Not A Conventional Head Football Coach
(Evansville, IN ) – The third-year head coach of the Ohio River Bearcats semi-pro football team proved just that early and often at Saturday's opening Mini-Camp evaluations at Impact Ministries in downtown Evansville. "The main goal is to get (our guys) stronger and in shape. All the other parts will take care of themselves. I also want these guys to develop a bond with each other because we have so many new faces," he said.  Read more



Chicago Falcons 2010 Charity and Fundraising Calendar
(Chicago, IL) –The Falcons are taking donations for St. Baldricks Charity. ....Cody and Joel Pruneda will be shaving their head for donations to find a cure for children's cancer.  As some of you know that their son DiMitri passed away from a brain tumor called Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer.  They found out in April 2004 and he passed away on August 26th, the day before Cody's birthday.  This could have been your child, your brother, your nephew or your friend so please make your online donations at Stbaldricks.org search "PRUNEDA" and donate under Joel, Cody or Dimitri.  Read more



Chicago Falcons Celebrate 20th Year Milestone
(Chicago, IL) – The Chicago Falcons are celebrating a milestone with their 20th season in 2010 and are looking for all Falcon players dating back to 1990. The Falcons will be having a reunion starting on Friday May 14th with a banquet dinner.  On Saturday May 15th the Falcons will have a BBQ after their preseason game. Owners Meeting 2010 Completed
(Bloomington, IL) - The 2010 Great Midwest Football Owners meeting was held at the Hawthorn Inn and Conference Center in Bloomington this past weekend. The two day conference had over 80 participants including officials and vendors to discuss some of the prior issues that were had in 2009 and the direction of the league in 2010.

GMFL In Minor League BCS National Title Hunt
(Alton, IL) -The Great Midwest Football League will officially join the Minor League BCS National Championship competition for the 2010 season.

The GMFL will participate in a 4-League Champion winner competition that will include teams from the following leagues, Premier South Football League (PSFL), United South Football League (USFL) and Gridiron Developmental Football League (GDFL).  Read more

(St. Louis, MO) - Former Missouri Wildcatz and current NFL player Brian Shaffering was a special guest at the Gateway Souls practice on saturday January 16, 2010 at Jamestown Sports Plex.

Schaefering who just finished his rookie season with the Cleveland Browns; stoped by the Soul practice last Saturday to say hello to old teammates and coaches. Read more



Chicago Knights 2010 Press Release
(Chicago, IL) - The Chicago Knights are a first year team who joined the Great Midwest Football League in the Fall of 2009.

Owner and Head Coach Dennis Thompson who during the 2009 GMFL season was the Head Coach and part owner of the Chicago Cowboys. Due to partnership conflicts coach Thompson found it in his best interest to step down after five games, and start working on what is now the Chicago Knights. Read more



Bearcats Fall to Jets In Sunshine Bowl
(Homestead, FL) - The #6 Ranked Ohio River Bearcats came up short in their quest for a National Chamionship as they fell to the #2 Ranked Mid-Ohio Jets 40-12 in Homestead, FL.

(Bloomington-Normal, IL) - The Great Midwest Football League will host it's 4th Annual Owners Meeting and Seminar February 20th and 21st at the Hawthorn Suites and Conference Center in Bloomington-Normal, IL.

2010 Border Wars - Are You In!
(West Alton, MO)- The Great Midwest Football League introduce "Border Wars" at the 4th annual family. We are going to take teams from Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan divide them into two teams (Team Kellie representing the Midway Conference and Team Milton representing the Gateway Conference) and have them face each other in a battle for bragging rights on both the gridiron and softball diamond in a two day extravaganza.
